Our lives have a certain interdependence on others as we navigate along. Yet, because we are susceptible to sin, we often ruin even our deepest bonds because of our own harmful actions. That was the case for a prominent Bible figure, Samson, a judge of ancient Israel, known for his supernatural strength. Having been dedicated to God from birth, he was empowered with incredible physical prowess, allowing him to display unbelievable feats like killing a lion with his bare hands.
While Samson excelled in physical strength, he struggled greatly with relationships. He associated with people who were not looking out for him...and the rest is history. His involvement in violence and revenge, coupled with the loss of his uncut hair, caused him to lose his well-known strength.
Jon and Teresa Harper cleverly break down Samson's story into seven "ships" that ultimately shape who we are and determine how we relate to others. This book illustrates that even the most damaged vessels can be restored, redirected, and used for God's glory.
