Your ability to thrive in this new era depends far more on your mindset than on your technical skill.
Rewiring Your Mind for AI isn't a technical manual. It's a guide for professionals, students, educators, and leaders-anyone trying to keep their footing in a fast-changing world. Author and educator David A. Wood, Ph.D., makes a simple argument: the most important thing you can do isn't learning to code or mastering the newest tool. It's changing how you think. What holds most people back isn't the technology. It's the outdated assumptions they bring to it.
Fully revised and expanded, this second edition adds five new chapters and updates every existing one. The new material covers the skills that still set people apart, a practical plan for putting these tools to work, what intelligence now costs, why simply double-checking the machine isn't the safeguard it seems, and where all of this is headed. The research is current, the stories are new, and the numbers reflect today. The core mindsets haven't changed-the world around them has moved, and this edition moves with it.
Through real stories from workplaces, classrooms, and everyday life, Wood shows how habits formed in an earlier era quietly limit us-and how to replace them with clearer, more current ways of thinking. Drawing on original research and examples from medicine, law, business, and education, he shows how these tools are reshaping every industry: saving time, cutting costs, and turning once-impossible work into everyday work. More important, he shows how ordinary people are using them right now to do better work.
Whether you're a leader making decisions, an employee determined to stay relevant, a student preparing for a workforce in motion, or simply someone trying to make sense of it all, this book offers a clear, practical, encouraging path forward-and the most important skill of the era: the ability to change your mind.
We are living through one of the most profound shifts in professional history. David Wood invites us to stop fearing the rise of artificial intelligence and start collaborating with it. His concept of Symbio-the coordination of humans and intelligent agents-offers a compelling blueprint for how we think, work, and lead in this new era. What makes this book truly stand out is its focus on mindset. David makes it clear that thriving in the era of intelligence requires more than just technology tools-it demands a new way of thinking. His vivid charts and real-world scenarios contrast the "old mindset" with the emerging GenAI mindset, helping readers identify where they are and where they need to go.
