Life has never felt normal for Hailey Stewart. As a trans girl navigating her way through high school, it's like the world has always been out to get her. And yet, life finds ways to make things far more complicated than Hailey could ever bargain for. An accident over summer break leaves her reliant on a wheelchair and cane to get around, all in time for something else to make itself known. A letter and an antique mirror, sent to her house by an entity calling itself The Seamstress. The letter tells Hailey that if she performs a certain ritual, the mirror will become a gateway to a comely new realm, known as Lin J'Roe. Even more bafflingly ... the letter states that Hailey is to be this realm's new Queen. Escapism has always been a comforting temptation. Only this time, it threatens to consume her for good.
