CAROL RUCKDESCHEL is a naturalist and research biologist based on Cumberland Island. Her collection of sea turtle data and specimens, one of the world's most comprehensive, is housed in the Cumberland Island Museum.
C. ROBERT SHOOP was a professor of biological sciences at the University of Rhode Island.
