In the mist-shrouded Azores Islands lies a secret that men have killed for - the lost treasure of Portugal's King Sebastian. For archaeologist Lauren Banister, this isn't just another expedition. After being betrayed and robbed of credit for a previous discovery, she's here for redemption as much as riches. Going undercover with a running tour group, she thinks she's finally one step ahead of her rivals.
She didn't count on meeting the Crismans - John and Sandra, amateur treasure hunters whose vacation is about to become the adventure of a lifetime. When their paths cross, Lauren realizes she needs their unique skills. But she's not the only one hunting Sebastian's gold. Her treacherous ex-partner has resurfaced, now working with a ruthless crime boss who rules the islands through fear.
As Lauren and the Crismans decipher centuries-old clues, their quest takes them racing across the islands, through volcanic calderas, dense forests, ancient convents, and lost tunnels. An unexpected alliance with a mysterious local guide offers Lauren more than just expertise in navigating the dangerous terrain. It kindles a romance she never saw coming. But with professional rivals and hardened criminals closing in, trust becomes as precious as the treasure they seek.
From the author who brought you Blood on the Equator, Sebastian's Gold combines heart-pounding action with historical mystery and romantic tension. Perfect for fans of Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider, this adventure thriller races through exotic locations while asking: how far would you go to reclaim what was stolen from you?
