Like many good things in life, Selfie Elfie was born of a dream- a dream to bring an inspiring current day character to the North Pole and to the imagination of our children. The dream was, and is, strong.
The hand drawn illustrations are perfect blend of detail and simplicity. The illustrations spark the imagination and pull the child into the story.
Book 1, Selfie Elfie, introduces Selfie as loving little elf with a passion, selfies. Some of the elves tease Selfie, but Selfie has enough self-esteem to stand firm and he continues doing what he loves. This encouraging tale provides a deeper understanding to would be bullies and deeper strength to those who may become the victim of bullying.
Selfie Elfie looks a lot lake many North Pole elves you have seen over the years, perhaps a bit cuter, but when you start flipping through the pages and reading the simple text something unexpected happens. You discover the cute little guy is sharing a story about how he didn't let teasing stop him from doing what he loved.
Lori's simple illustrations engage the youngster and the story helps build inner strength while at the same time developing deeper acceptance and understanding of people who are different from yourself.
