But he's not expecting any casualties in his latest case. Nick is on his way to Fairstead Hospital to meet his new client, Alan Cooper, CEO of the private establishment.
Nick's been hired to carry out an independent review of the business. He immediately discovers one of the staff members is running a profitable scam.

But Cooper isn't available for a meeting right now. He's lying on the floor of his office with a syringe in his right hand and five empty ones on the floor beside him. Blood is trickling from his head, his lips and fingers are tinged blue.
