Kazai, an Umi (Ocean) Tribe protector who was presumably born without shokan abilities, is thrust into a quest for discovery when he unexpectedly manifests latent Hikari (Sun)Tribe shokan abilities. In the midst of his inner turmoil and frustration with his mother, who refuses to give him answers, the Umi Tribe faces the threat of an attack by the Crimson Bloods, elementally powered hybrids once thought to be extinct.
