Are there any elements of truth in "Snow White"? A stepmother can be jealous of her beautiful stepdaughter. Little people can live in the woods. And someone can choke on an apple and die. Of course there wouldn't be a truth-telling magic mirror--except now we have smart mirrors with virtual assistants! Integrating science and culture with literacy, this book adds funny "Truth Time" sidebars to a retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale "Snow White," explaining facts about little people, apples, smart mirrors, and more. Includes discussion of fairy tale traits, fictional vs. real comparison chart, glossary, and book and website resources. Perfect for young students just learning about fiction and nonfiction and real versus not real, this title supports CCSS standards for reading literature.
