Solid state batteries with solid electrolytes are considered to be the next generation of energy storage devices. However, several challenges remain, such as insufficient ionic conductivity at room temperature and poor interfacial contact between the solid electrolyte and electrodes. This Special Issue presents the recent progress in the area of solid state batteries, including solid state Li batteries, Na batteries and Na-CO2 batteries.
