Features stunning aerial photographs of the Deep-water Horizon Gulf oil spill. The full scale of the disaster is revealed in these photographs where the human presence takes the form of tiny toy-like helicopters and ships. Only the billowing smoke from a great fire signals the true destruction caused.
Author Biography
Daniel Beltra is a fine art photographer based in Seattle. His passion for conservation is evident in his evocatively poignant images of our environment. For his Spill series, Beltra received the Wildlife Photographer of the Year award and the Lucie Award for International Photographer of the Year - Deeper Perspective.
Barbara Bloemink is the Executive Director of the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Aspen, Colorado. Previously, she was the Director and/or Chief Curator of five art museums in the United States including the Smithsonian National Design Museum and the Guggenheim Hermitage.
