In an age when experience reigns, the idea of absolute truth has lost favor with many. Much of our society has been steeped in the idea that what's true is determined by personal experience. How can we center ourselves on the pathway of God's truth in such a time? Hebrews eleven sheds light on the lives of people with struggles much like our own. This book compares the life struggles of Old Testament times with those of our modern world, looking for eternal solutions to everyday challenges. It proposes that God's people face no new battles, but only old ones recast. We will be asked to see our life experiences through the spiritual lens of faith, with a view to gaining strength for whatever tomorrow presents. As serious Bible students, we will find encouragement from the "great cloud of witnesses" that made the journey before us.
