Additional information
by Devon Gallant (Author)
Composed entirely on an Olympia typewriter, "S(tars) & M(agnets)" is an experimental 'book-of-poems' that blends shamanism, chaos magic, and eroticism through a method that is both concrete and lyrical, traditional and avant-garde. It harkens back to the Golden Age of early Modern poetry while simultaneously reaches relentlessly for the new and unsung. It abounds in contradictions--both visionary and cliche, simplistic and extravagant--revelling shamelessly in its nostalgic naivety and innocence while never wavering from its idiosyncratic ideal to stand as a monolith in honour of poetry as a Pure Art.
