Thank You, Lord
My "Thank You" Hits Different When You Know What I've Survived
This is a survivor's thank you.
Thank You, Lord is not a devotional you skim while sipping tea.
It is not a polished memoir.
It is not a churchy book full of clichés.
This is a survival report.
Written by Pastor Paul Steven Smith, this book was born in the middle of sickness, betrayal, loss, fear, pressure, and moments that should have ended his story-but did not. Every chapter is soaked in gratitude that came after the storm, not before it.
This is the kind of thank you that only comes from someone who:
Almost lost their mind
Almost lost their life
Almost gave up
And lived to tell the truth anyway
If you have ever:
Survived something you never talk about
Smiled while breaking on the inside
Loved God but wrestled with life
Been told "you are strong" while you were barely holding on
Wondered how you are still here
This book is for you.
Each chapter blends raw testimony, Black church storytelling, humor, grit, praise, and spiritual truth to remind you of one powerful fact:
You are not still here by accident.
Thank You, Lord speaks to the weary, the wounded, the overlooked, the fighters, the faithful, and the folks who praise louder because they know what it cost them to still be breathing.
This book will:
Stir your gratitude
Confront your silence
Validate your pain
Ignite your praise
And remind you that survival is a testimony
This is not a book you read quietly.
This is a book that will make you stop, breathe, cry, shout, and whisper:
"Thank You, Lord... because I should not be here-but I am."
If your thank you has been stuck in your chest, this book will help you release it.
Open it with honesty.
Read it with courage.
Finish it with praise.
