An eight-session adult Bible study, The Baptismal River explores biblical events and themes that serve as the basis for our understanding of the sacrament of Baptism. Using Scripture and writings of Lutheran Church Fathers, participants will learn how God has worked throughout history to prepare the world for His greater work in the Sacrament of Baptism. While most Lutherans understand the meaning and efficacy of Baptism, they lack the knowledge of how baptismal theology has been woven throughout history from the beginning. The author will delve into several biblical events and themes, examining Baptism from an Old Testament perspective. Participants will learn what God is doing in these stories and understand the baptismal connection.
