I was dying to know how this story would spell out itself. ... This book is written very well and I enjoyed the intensity and flow that ensued.Teresa GNo easy answers are provided, but I greatly enjoyed the depth to Cox delved in examining an issue so complicated and vital. As one of the most thoughtful and gripping books that I have read for a long time, I highly recommend this book.Cameron AtkinsonAn excellent thriller ... The story grabbed me from the first page. ... A very fun and enjoyable book.Buster BoySharp dialogues, thrilling action scenes and relatable characters make this book a good read.John FThe author spins an enjoyable tale in "The Black Pill" by combining action and adventure with medical and ethical dilemmas. Readers of medical thrillers will surely enjoy this book.Wandering MI was hooked with the first chapter as the focal character is exciting and he appears to be down a dark and mysterious path.paintmonet... that is the way Cox unfolds his story - very much like a film. And it works very well. ... This is an impressive first novel from a man who knows how to write dialogue and pace an action story framed in the confines of a medical dilemma. Grady Harp

Author Biography

Gino Cox grew up in Wilmette, Illinois on Chicago's north shore. He studied economics at Rockford College and marketing at Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He eventually moved to Malibu, California, where he worked for various entertainment companies, including a stint as general manager of Fleshwound Films, a company that produces extreme sports videos and live events, and is credited as production manager for Crusty Demons: 9 Lives. While in California, he wrote, directed and produced a series of comedies for cable television and wrote several screenplays that received critical success in several minor competitions. One of the comedies he wrote and produced was "Love Spells," which he wrote entirely in iambic pentameter. Gino has also appeared on stage in minor roles as an actor (three productions, eighty performances) and dancer (two productions, three performances). While The Black Pill is Gino's first novel, based on his screenplay by the same title, it is not his first story, and benefits from his prior experience writing screenplays and writing/directing comedies. As reviewers have noted, it reads like a movie in that it is highly visual and tightly paced. Gino now lives, works and writes in Southeast Asia. One of his avocations is writing and producing language instruction videos in Thai and Tagalog which can be viewed on his YouTube channel at http: //www.YouTube.com/LanguageComedy.
