Author Biography
A. Umaz has enjoyed careers in aviation, the maritime, and education. He currently teaches, with an MA Ed. Physics and an MA Ed. Chemistry. Always the adventurer, he has prospected for gold along the Blue River in Colorado, and for diamonds along the Guaniamo River at the foot of the Andes in Venezuela. He has trekked in the deserts of the American Southwest and experienced the dead of winter in the Russian Urals. A lover of literary fiction, and science fiction in particular, and influenced by the philosophers Kant, Schopenhauer, and Nietzche, and by the authors Hermann Hesse and Robert Heinlein, A. Umaz puts a futurist's twist on the abiding conflict between knowledge and faith, the questions posed by science and religion, and the need for human morality.
