The Catholic Cowboy Way of Prayer is a practical guide to help all people listen to the voice of God in their hearts. If we can stay tuned into His voice, then we can stay peaceful through all circumstances in life. Though God is always present to us, prayerfully tuning in to His voice at all times does take guidance and discipline.
Christian tradition has much to teach us in this department. Two thousand years of experience in prayer allows us to follow where others have led. However, these Christian principles of prayer need be adapted to fit our modern-day circumstances and way of life. If we are able, then the serenity of the saints can still pervade our hearts.
Thus, the purpose of this book. Trying to teach myself to pray like a monk is arduous and likely unattainable, for those living outside of the monastery. Learning to listen to God's voice in my heart is both fulfilling and possible, even for the average Joe.
Most of us have heard God speak to us in many and varied ways. The Catholic Cowboy Way of Prayer is to become proficient in tuning in to His voice at all times. Much of the skill and work involved in this sacred art comes from tuning out of all the other voices in order to remain tuned in to God's.
If you are interested in developing a practical and personal prayer life, this book's for you. The Catholic Cowboy Way of Prayer is not a new form of prayer but a systematic way to approach prayer. Through these tried and true lessons from life, all of us can learn how to hear God speak to me as His beloved son or daughter.
