This book tells the story of Granny and a cheeky wind on their adventure to explore all the directions of the compass - they fly over the school, town, beach, harbour, zoo, farm, the woods and back home. When Granny takes off she loses her slipper and it can be spotted in every single location she visits; alongside other story-words. The pleasant and catchy rhyme and the beautiful hand painted illustrations make The Day Granny Took Off a delightful daytime, playtime or bedtime story. The book covers part of the new National Curriculum as it introduces cardinal directions and the use of a compass. It includes guided reading questions and a map riddle. The song version is available online.
