Does it feel like every coping tool you've tried was built for someone else's brain?
Does Any of This Sound Familiar?
- You've tried therapy, breathing exercises, and mindfulness apps, and none of them stuck
- Your emotions hit harder and faster than you can manage
- You mask all day and arrive home with nothing left
- Meltdowns or shutdowns happen even when you saw them coming
I get it. You've done the work and still felt like the odd one out. DBT is evidence-based, but standard DBT was built for a different nervous system.
Here's what you'll finally understand:
- The real reason standard DBT fails neurodivergent adults and what adaptation actually requires
- Why your nervous system hits its limit faster and how to catch the window before crisis
- What mindful stimming is and how to use it deliberately instead of suppressing it
- Why you can't name your emotions in real time and the body-first system that works instead
- The dissolve threshold: the intensity level where emotions stop being nameable
- How to interrupt a meltdown in the build-up phase before voluntary control drops out
- The difference between a meltdown and a shutdown and why the interventions are opposite
- How to set a boundary in one sentence without over-explaining
- Why neurodivergent people carry trauma at higher rates and how DBT creates a safe starting point
This Book is for You if...
- You have ADHD, autism, or AuDHD
- You mask constantly and can't remember who you are without the performance
- You shut down or explode and can't always explain why
- You're ready to stop managing symptoms and start understanding yourself
Ready to stop managing symptoms and start understanding the brain you actually have?
