Additional information
by Diana Mosley (Author)
An intimate of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Diana Mitford (Lady Mosley) was a frequent guest at their parties in Paris or at the 'Moulin' in the village of Orsay just outside Paris, where they were neighbours. Written in her distinctive aristocratic style - archly intelligent, amused and perceptive - Diana Mitford paints an unforgettably life-like portrait of her friend that captures both the duchess's charm and flaws.
What was it that utterly captivated the Duke of Windsor and made him renounce his crown so that he might never be parted from Wallis Simpson? It is this question that Diana Mitford seeks to answer. She is perhaps more qualified than most given as she so enjoyed Wallis's and the Duke's company.
