Author Biography
A former slave, Epictetus (c. 55-c. 130) was a Greek philosopher and influential teacher of Stoicism. His Enchiridion, or ''Manual, '' invites us to discern what lies within our control and what does not, offering reasoned guidance toward inner freedom.
