The Four Ancient Books of Wales is a collection of Welsh literature translated and edited by William Forbes Skene. The books included are the Red Book of Hergest, the White Book of Rhydderch, the Book of Aneirin, and the Book of Taliesin. These books contain a variety of Welsh poetry and prose, including legends, myths, and historical accounts. The Red Book of Hergest and the White Book of Rhydderch are considered two of the most important medieval Welsh manuscripts, and the Book of Taliesin contains some of the earliest Welsh poetry.
