The Haitian Creole Language is the first book that deals broadly with a language that has too long lived in the shadow of French. Arthur K. Spears is professor and chair of the Anthropology Department and director of the Black Studies Program at The City College of The City University of New York (CUNY). He is professor of linguistics and anthropology at The Graduate Center (CUNY).
