The study of the Hebrew language is an attractive challenge for serious students of the Bible, or just curious onlookers. Referring to the TORAH, to Hebrew "prayer" books, and the dictionary still limit the basic skills needed to study this language. There are materials available through different Jewish teachers, but finding an elementary Hebrew book that teaches to write and read Hebrew is a rare jewel.
By creating The Hebrew Alphabet Book 1, Silvia Owley, a trilingual foreign language teacher, is filling the gap where others have overlooked this indispensable base. Through her own research and skills, for over 37 years, she taught Spanish, English and French, using her own methodology, and established a firm foundation for learning these foreign languages. The goal of this book is to help students, through the bases of its alphabet, learn to sound out each letter, then link letters to form a word and finally read a full sentence. Learning the art of writing and reading from right to left, uncovering the mysteries of numerical values, and remembering the 10 Commandments in alphabetical order are a bonus while learning the Hebrew alphabet.
