Although the "according to" Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are complementary it is challenging to the reader to comprehend the overall narrative as they are not organized by any consecutive line of thought or chronology. Each Gospel has a different emphasis and organization, shaped to be relevant to it's own purpose and audience; reflecting the differences of interest and environment.
