The problem in the world today is not that people haven't received the gospel but precisely that they have. Tragically, the "gospel" in which they have put their trust is a pale reflection of the good news about Jesus proclaimed in the New Testament. It is a muddled gospel: truncated, anemic, other-worldly, and ego-centric. Many people in the church are aware that something is desperately wrong. Some call for deconstruction. Others pray for revival. This book proposes something different: re-formation. The author believes that ground zero for a re-formed church is getting the gospel right. He writes to encourage you to rediscover the revolutionary implications of the good news about Jesus so that you will not only believe the gospel and preach the gospel, but be the gospel.
