Every quarter of a century, mermaids from across the oceans gather deep beneath the Mediterranean Sea to honor their oldest traditions during the Celestial Celebrations-a lavish convergence of parties, games, rituals... and power.
Hosted at the majestic Cerulean Chateau, home of the Mermaid Queen, the celebrations should be a time of unity. Instead, they threaten to become a reckoning.
As the tide draws the mermaids together, the Goddess Atargatis-Queen of the Mermaids-finds her crown growing heavier by the day. Rumors of rebellion stir within her own factions. An exiled Glaucus and his shoal of mermen rise from the bottom of the world to infiltrate her queendom. And somewhere above the waves, a hungry mortal mermaid hunter is closing in, hot on her tail.
Betrayal lurks behind every jeweled smile. Alliances shift as quickly as the current. And the line between celebration and catastrophe grows dangerously thin.
