Additional information
by Nikola Tesla (Author)
Enter the extraordinary mind of Nikola Tesla through 107 essays, lectures, technical papers, public statements, letters to editors, and autobiographical writings, presented with 214 original figures across more than 660 pages. This expansive collection traces Tesla's thinking on alternating current, electrical resonance, high-frequency phenomena, artificial illumination, wireless communication, mechanical oscillation, solar energy, and the technological future he believed electricity would create.
Included are such landmark works as A New System of Alternating Current Motors and Transformers; Experiments with Alternating Currents of High Frequency; Experiments with Alternate Currents of Very High Frequency and Their Application to Methods of Artificial Illumination; Experiments with Alternate Currents of High Potential and High Frequency; On Light and Other High Frequency Phenomena; The Problem of Increasing Human Energy, with Special Reference to the Harnessing of the Sun's Energy; and My Inventions: The Autobiography of Nikola Tesla. The collection also preserves Tesla's letters and public comments concerning Thomas Edison, Guglielmo Marconi, radio, electrical power, scientific priority, and the controversies that shaped his career.
Readers will also discover less frequently collected works, including Famous Scientific Illusions; High Frequency Oscillators for Electro-Therapeutic and Other Purposes; The Disturbing Influence of Solar Radiation on the Wireless Transmission of Energy; The Wonder World to Be Created by Electricity; A Speech Delivered Before the American Institute of Electrical Engineers; and Electrical Oscillators. Together, these writings reveal Tesla not merely as the inventor of transformative electrical technologies, but as an ambitious thinker whose ideas ranged from practical engineering to bold predictions about communication, energy, automation, and the future of civilization.
