As far as what it takes to re-purpose a tool, one of the most impressive examples is the love/hate relationship the U.S. President has with the social media powerhouse Twitter. Donald Trump, one of the oldest U.S. Presidents, has undeniably and probably eternally re-purposed the function of the traditionally young-loving Twitter world, AND the role that it plays in the day to day operations of the most powerful office in the world. But re-purposing a tool (like Twitter) or a table is one thing. What about re-purposing time and talent? What could that look like as we age? Historically, it has looked like transitioning from a life of full-time work to a life of ease, relaxation, and travel as people look forward to retirement. However, as people have less and less retirement and pension, and have almost no "security" in Social Security, they are working well past retirement age, often in jobs they were not trained for. And yet, there is also a growing trend among professionals who are embracing the increased youthfulness of middle age, and making the most of their options to make a new start. Volume one of this booklet series is written to challenge those who have yet to embrace the advantages of living and working longer; and, to reveal keys for effectively combating the even more common trend of age discrimination in today's workplace.
