The Retire in Thailand Handbook 2026 (Revised Fourth Edition) is a follow-up to the original book I wrote in 2017, The Retire in Thailand Handbook...The First Six Months, which I wrote shortly after I retired to Thailand. The book was intended to be a resource for those contemplating retirement in Thailand, helping them to avoid the expensive and time-consuming mistakes I made when I first retired to the Land of Smiles. Much has changed in the last few years. Thailand has seen 3 changes in government, and these changes have brought about new policies that can influence the lives of expats and expat retirees living here or intending to live here. This is why I have updated and revised the Retire in Thailand Handbook in 2026.
