My journey from child alcoholic and control freak to adult sober vegan has been motivated by pain and freedom. Alcohol, negative thinking, and junk food fueled my disease and wreaked havoc on my body. God was an entity I blamed for my pain and suffering. Eventually, I learned to nurture my mind with information, my body with food, and my spirit with prayer and meditation. Then, the real miracle happened, and I learned to love myself. This book will take you through my life, year by year, and teach you the simple approach I took to attach to myself and live a congruent life. I used italicized words to represent my inner critical voice and the healthy, nurturing voice I developed to grow, heal, and attach to myself. My experiences, approach to sobriety, and healthy habits are easy to follow, and anyone can do it. The names of many people in my story have been changed to protect their anonymity.
