The author has always been fascinated by Sri Lankan history. The inspiration for this book came while he was planning a cultural discovery tour of Sri Lanka for his children. Having collected a dossier full of interesting facts, he was encouraged by his family to share his knowledge with a wider audience. He has now combined his love of literature and history to produce the first easy-to-read, truly comprehensive story of Sigiriya. The book has received rave reviews by readers and critics alike. Senani Ponnamperuma is the author of 'The Story of Anuradhapura'. He has a degree in Information Technology and Business Administration. He was the CIO of two large Australian retailers and has spent many years as a senior IT Consultant.
