Marcus Rice, born second child of six, in Chattanooga Tennessee, raised by a single parent, writes this book to show that living in poverty in America and surviving poverty in America can be done. This book shows how being disadvantaged can work in your favor with the grace of God, providing that prayers, patients and persistent acts are the key ingredients in your daily life. As the English proverb states" Where there's a will there's a way". As a firefighter administrator, "I know what heat is and I know how to escape from life's blazing battles, even if they occur in your own home. I have had to fight fires and family too, in order to survive. Life is a true testament of your wiliness to survive, I did and I am a survivor."
