In Tia Lets Go, Tia feels overwhelmed after a series of frustrating moments leave her tired and stuck in big feelings. With help from her friend Dwight, she learns to take a break, move her body, and let go of stress through movement and mindful breathing. By the end of the day, Tia feels more in control and peaceful, using calming strategies to end her night with rest. This story helps students learn how to recognize emotions, manage frustration, and use healthy coping tools in tough moments.
In this lesson, students learn about letting go of strong emotions. A balloon is used to show how strong emotions can build up-and how good it feels to let them go. As the balloon inflates, students imagine big feelings inside, then release the air to practice letting those feelings go. Students participate in the "Eagle Flying" activity, mimicking the movements of eagles and promoting a sense of joy.
