Homeowners of a small home will often choose their furniture based on how much they will use it. Coffee tables that have lift tops can double as a desk area. When you take the time to use your vertical space, you will find more room on the walls of the small home than you originally imagined. Vertical space is all that space from the home floors to the ceilings. Much of this will often go under-utilized because homeowners will not think about using this space for their needs.
