- Into the Dark: They enter the cave, guided only by glowing jellyfish. Suddenly, a loud, scary noise erupts: "GRRR-GLUB-BOO!" Inky freezes in fear, her tentacles twisting into knots. The story pauses here to teach the reader breathing techniques to manage fear alongside Inky.
- The Encounter: As they swim deeper, they see two glowing eyes and a wiggly shadow in the dark. Inky and Toot comically hide behind each other. Instead of running, Toot calls out a friendly greeting.
- The Reveal: The "monster" is revealed to be Dotty, a tiny, shy, twinkling Sea Dragon. She wasn't making scary noises to hurt them; she was making them because she was lonely.
