Linda Pursley felt trapped for years after enduring a brutal childhood, the death of her first husband, and twenty-two years in an abusive second marriage. She longed to find freedom, but how could she when even her church told her she couldn't leave her marriage? But she had hope. It was hope that allowed her to finally find the courage and support to gain her freedom and discover herself, her worth, and a faith in God that could not be shaken.
Tortured to Triumphant openly and honestly shares her personal journey of healing, forgiveness, and finding God's unending grace and mercy. Her story is one to let anyone know that they are not alone when it comes to finding the courage to leave and find freedom from an abusive relationship. Using a diary format, she reveals that the real journey is in recovery, not only from the abuse, but learning new ways of living to have a better future and not just repeat the process with someone new. Healing from abuse is hard work and messy. It is filled with guilt, self-doubt, and falling down and rising again. But there is always hope and a loving God who wants to guide anyone to freedom, peace, and a new life free from abuse.
Linda Pursley is from Houston, Texas and has two children and four grandsons. She loves helping people who have been rejected and cast aside by society to know that God truly loves them. She has started two homeless shelters and wants only to share the grace, mercy, and love of God without ever saying a word.
