Author Biography

Macon Blair's credits as a director & screenwriter include The Toxic Avenger ('25) and the Sundance award-winner I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore. His credits as an actor include Blue Ruin, Green Room, Logan Lucky, The Florida Project, and Oppenheimer. His graphic novel credits include Long Road To Liquor City. His bare-knuckle cage fighting record is 1 - 0 - 12 (and the win was a technicality because the other guy had an asthma attack.) He lives in Austin, Texas, with his lovely wife, seventeen large human children, one half-boy half-pig hybrid creature in the cellar, and his restored '76 Pontiac Ventura converted to run on hot dog water.

Rick Spears has written numerous graphic novels and comics, including Teenagers From Mars, Dead West, Black Metal, My Riot, and The Auteur. He's also written for film and television and directed a handful of award-winning short films. He lives with his family in Los Angeles.

James "Barf" Callahan is known for creating work under the name BARF COMICS and illustrating thousands of record covers, skate decks, and comic pages- most notably for The Auteur and Barf Skate: The Skateboard Art of James "Barf" Callahan.

Umar Ditta is a UK-based comic book writer. He has written for Black Hearted Press and Passenger Games. He has also worked on creator-owned independent titles UNTETHERED and LAD. He enjoys reading and working on his custom-built computer all whilst in the pleasant company of his wife and pet cat.

Axel Medellin Machain was born in Guadalajara, Mexico in 1975 and started drawing comics as soon as possible. He studied Industrial Design, worked in advertisement and storyboarding, and eventually went back to making comics. Besides a long stint drawing and coloring Elephantmen (currently at Comixology Originals), he has drawn stories for Metal Hurlant, Heavy Metal, Platinum Studios, Zenescope, Boom! Studios, Image Comics, Legendary Comics, Opus Comics, Painted in Blood, among others. He has created some comics of his own, like Lil' Cousin Holocaustica and Venus/Omega. He recently got a master's degree in graphic narrative. In between pages, he paints and teaches the art and language of comics at universities and makes some more comics.

Walter Chaw is senior film critic for FilmFreakCentral.net. He has bylines in The New York Times, The Washington Post, LA Weekly and others, is a guest contributor for NPR's Pop Culture Happy Hour, and contributed to a documentary for David Fincher's Netflix series Voir. He has written a monograph on the film Miracle Mile, and a career-spanning book on the work of Walter Hill called A Walter Hill Film: Tragedy and Masculinity in the FIlms of Walter Hill. He has been called a "toxic avenger" a time or two and has always taken it as the greatest compliment.

Whenever they aren't playing games or with their enormous cat, Lane is a Ringo and GLAAD-nominated cartoonist who has gotten to work for AHOY, IDW, CEX, LEGENDARY COMICS, and so many amazing writers.

Fabiana Mascolo is an Italian visual artist. She's been freelancing for the comics industry since 2015, providing both artwork and color work to companies such as Dark Horse, Netflix's Millarworld, Image, BOOM! Studios, Èditions Soleil, Sergio Bonelli Editore, and more. Some of her works include Magic: The Hidden Planeswalker, Firefly: Brand New Verse, and Cyberpunk 2077: Blackout. Toxic Avenger marks her first collaboration with Legendary Comics.

Janet Harvey is an award-winning writer of comic books, movies, and games. As a comic book creator, she wrote the YALSA finalist Angel City for Oni Press, The Curie Society from MIT Press and Einhorn Epic Productions, and the first adventure of Cassandra Cain in No Man's Land for DC Comics. As a game writer, she was the staff writer on the DC Universe Online MMORPG. Her feature film debut, A Million Hits, screened at festivals around the world and was distributed by Summer Hill Films. Her current project is a YA graphic novel being developed in collaboration with Angel City illustrator Megan Levens.

Sam Curtis is a freelance artist specializing in comics and illustration. Her work includes A Vampire in Paris (2019), a successfully kickstarted comic/short story; Animalheads, an ongoing popular webcomic; and Drac: Son of Dante (2022) by Endeavor Content. She has also been a part of 21 successful anthologies. She spends all her free time drawing comics and coming up with new and exciting characters to share with the world.
