This book represents almost 50 years of taking train pictures (1973 through the early 2020s) in the heart of the great Pennsylvania Railroad electrification in Pennsylvania and Maryland, along with some side trips to observe diesel operations on Amtrak, Chessie, Conrail, and regional and short lines. It also includes MARC and NJT operations, NRHS excursions and activities, mainline steam excursions, a brief look at Civil War railroading, and a short tribute to railroad historians of the past. As is sometimes said by audience members commenting during train club slide shows, "Those were the days," followed by someone else saying, "Never to be repeated."
