Today's business environment presents business leaders with an ever-increasing set of complex requirements. From cyber security to quality, compliance to customers, getting things right for customer and regulatory keeps leaders up at night wondering how to meet all these requirements while still delivering on customers needs. Many believe one of the culprits in these difficult challenges is silos. Silos are perceived as obstacles to the efficient and effective operation of an organization. Nothing could be more wrong. Transform Silos to Pillars walks the reader through a different approach. Rather than eliminate silos, readers are encouraged to understand the strength silos bring to organizations and their delivery to the customer. Silos are the foundation of an organization's greatness and should be addressed in that manner. The challenge is designing and managing the silo in a way that optimizes its effectiveness within the context of customer and organizational needs. Transform Silos to Pillars introduces the reader to the Hub Leader who possesses a unique set of skills to connect within and across silos. The goal is to take the non-operational requirements an organization must meet (compliance, quality, security, etc.) and integrate those into operational processes. This approach avoids the ineffective layering of such requirements on top of operational work which leads to frustration and resistance. In the end, silos that have these Core Thread non-operational activities integrated into their operational processes have better designed and optimized delivery as well as a more compliance posture.
