Have you ever wondered how trees grow, make food, function, and live? Would you like to learn more about tree anatomy? Do you know how to properly plant trees? About selecting trees for your yard or landscape? About care and maintenance of trees, including fertilization and pruning? Would you like to know about the kinds of nursery stock that can be purchased from a nursery and garden center, including bare root, containerized, container grown, and balled and burlapped (B&B) trees?
TROY THE TREE GUY! is a book about trees. It is written and explained in simple terms, for middle to upper age youth and adults, based on fact, about tree anatomy, how trees grow, make food, and function. The book also describes kinds of trees, tree selection, nursery stock, planting procedures, and care and maintenance of trees and shrubs including pruning and fertilization.
Information about trees is explained using a "bottoms-up" approach, from ground level to the top, from seed, roots, trunk, to crown and points in-between. This book emphasizes the significant importance of trees to people, our health, the economy, animals, birds, all living things, and the environment including helping to slow global warming and climate change.
