A celebration of British heritage, Trusted Guardians are the monarch's personal bodyguards and have been so since 1660. They hold an iconic position in British society as a keeper of heritage and ceremony, recognised globally as the benchmark of British pageantry and national identity. In public ceremonies the women and men of the regiment come across as one military unit, and their uniforms blend all of the individuals into one ceremonial and fighting unit. This book gets behind the scenes and explores the individuals that make up this formidable unified regiment in training and recreation, as well as in ceremonial splendour. The photography has been captured over the course of almost two years and describes the timelessness of regimental life, and particular the companionship of Horse and Soldier.Author Biography
Glenn Røkeberg is a professional photographer, currently based in Oslo, Norway. He specialises in employer branding, portrait, and automotive photography. Born in Detroit, USA, in 1964 to Norwegian parents, he has lived in Norway since the age of three. He studied photography at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. Røkeberg works extensively with commercial clients across Europe and often travels to the UK for projects. In addition to his commercial work, he pursues personal photographic projects that reflect his social engagement and interest in portraying life through images of people and their environments.
