Every Christmas, Ellie and Lucas find their way back to each other. And every Christmas, something pulls them apart.
Bakery owner Ellie has always loved Bramblewick at Christmas, with its jolly residents, cosy pub fires, and festive traditions. The little village has a way of making even the most broken things feel whole again.
But there is one part of Ellie's heart that has never quite healed. Twenty years ago, aged sixteen, Ellie fell in love with Lucas Bennett beneath the fairy lights of the Christmas market. Across two decades of missed chances, bad timing, army deployments, engagements, betrayals, and one devastating goodbye, they have circled each other every Christmas like a tradition neither could quite break.
Just as the two of them are starting to accept that some relationships just aren't meant to work out, an emergency on Christmas Eve forces Ellie and Lucas back into each other's lives. As the past unfolds alongside the present, Ellie must confront the question she's spent half her life avoiding: was Lucas the love she lost, or the mistake she never learned to let go of?
Full of festive sparkle, small-town warmth, and a love story that unfolds over years, Until Next Christmas combines the emotional longing of One Day with the cosy village atmosphere of The Pumpkin Spiced Café. Perfect for fans of David Nicholls and Jenny Bayliss.
