"Urban Trout displays Jevin Lee Albuquerque's unique storytelling ability in the form of short, witty, relatable poems. His playful sense of humor as well as portrayals of everyday offenses against the soul, offer glimpses into positive and negative human behaviors. Free verse interwoven with images drawn from nature, scenes from universal experience, and familiar emotions make this an appealing, well-organized, and attractively presented compilation" (Dr. Jennifer Lagier, editor Monterey Poetry Review, author of Illuminations (Kelsay Books). Urban Trout is a glimpse into the life of a poet consumed by jazz and the art of fly-fishing. Having found his voice studying, listening, reading alongside the many great poets in North Beach, San Francisco, he hit the road in search of trout; along the way, finding poetry in the dark crevices where it thrives, absorbing rhythm, beauty, flowing streams, of jazz, in New Orleans. His mentor often said "everyone is a poet." Albuquerque agrees. Poetry lives everywhere.
