This is the second book of Sophie and the Faerie Stone, called Wanderlust and Faerie Dust. It is an enchanting story filled with twists and turns as Sophie escapes the evil queen and the Kingdom of Dismalia with the help of Gurr and Death. She finds herself outside the boundaries where she meets up with Wanderlust, her new-found companion, who helps her escape into a magical forest filled with myths, legends, and enchantments. It is here that Sophie learns her fate from an ancient tree, Oakenboulderr, and a story told to her by an ancient Muse, Mother Mnemosyne. Sophie's fate lies not in her hands but in the hands of the heavens above where a game is being played out between two warring factions. She is little more than a pawn and yet her fate will decide the fates of everything she loves.
Sophie would love to stay with her new best friends in an enchanting forest but she must keep moving forward on this quest to find the dragon with tears as the protagonist of this story that is coming alive-none of it to her liking, except for the fact that Wanderlust, her new best friend, goes with her to guide her and protect her. And they both will need all the courage, luck, and guidance they can get as they enter into the Land of Dark Shadows, a land inhabited by cannibals, old rock faces that love to gossip and tell stories, snake people with a giant snake god and crystal pools.
Wanderlust and Faerie Dust is both scary and fun with lots of plot driven action and strange and quirky characters that come alive in a faerie tale environment. A faerie tale that's rarely told, but when it's told, it comes alive. The question is-will Sophie survive in her quest to keep the story alive?
