by J. D. Morgan (Author)
An ADHD diagnosis did not create these poems. It changed the way they could be heard.
Written across different seasons of J.D. Morgan's life-many before he understood the shape of his attention-Where the Music Hides moves through memory, longing, distraction, silence, desire, and self-recognition.
What once appeared scattered begins to reveal an underlying rhythm: unfinished thoughts becoming echoes, open tabs becoming windows, and separate fragments forming a song of their own.
Rooted in the experience of a Jamaican poet coming to understand his inattentive ADHD, this collection approaches diagnosis not as an origin story, but as a new way of listening. Through intimate reflection and recurring images from the natural world, it searches for meaning within the interrupted, the overlooked, and the unresolved.
Where the Music Hides is for anyone whose mind has ever moved in several directions at once-and who has wondered whether the noise might still contain music.
