Hey, it's ME! I'm Desirable. Les Desirable. When I'm not in middle school, I'm a world-famous news reporter. You've probably heard of me.
I sit quietly and listen to whatever Mrs. Mudhole is saying. I'm smart enough to avoid direct confrontation with a teacher, so I strategically divert her attention by opening a book and point to some writing. It's a book called Huckleberry Finn by some author named Samuel Longhorn Clemente. Mrs. Mudhole twists her lips like she's sucking on lemons. She throws up her hands and quietly walks away. While Mrs. Mudhole paces at the front of the classroom, I sit on the back row creating my very own original comic books. They're for kids-just like YOU. They're hilarious! Welcome to my Winged Warrior comic book. In this book, my friends Ebb Peckinpaw and Flo Uphill hear a loud groan coming from the hall. They look up and are shocked to see a slightly stooped older man with large dark splotches, a pink nose, wearing crumpled shorts. He's got one shoelace untied. After an agonizing dog and pony show, he informs them that a bunch of animals have been stolen from a traveling carnival show. Everything's gone! They immediately recognize that this story has legs! Will our superhero Ebb Peckinpaw be able to overcome his natural instincts to overlook obvious clues? Or will he be trapped by his bad habits and let the scent of the trail grow cold? It's time to find out. Winged Warrior: Missing Animals is a funny and entertaining story for children ages 9 - 12, middle school students, and adults who are still young at heart.
