This fourth volume of Yale papyri presents three groups of texts dating from the second century BCE to the seventh century CE. Editions are presented in chronological order, and include items such as samples of scribal training, mathematical tables and exercises, schoolroom work, letters, tax- receipts, contracts, and petitions. Contributors in addition to the volume editors include Daniel Markovich, Charles W. Hedrick, Jr., Jitse H. F. Dijkstra, Kevin Wilkinson, AnneMarie Luijendijk, Richard L. Phillips, Gary Reger, Shane Berg, Elizabeth Penland, George Bevan, Josiah E. Davis, Mariam Dandamayeva, Andrew T. Crislip, and Jean Gascou.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eAuthor Biography\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eHélène Cuvigny\u003c\/b\u003e is Research Director at the Institute of Research and Text History. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cb\u003eRuth Duttenhöfer\u003c\/b\u003e has recently completed her doctoral work in Germany. She has published a number of papyrological articles, and has updated the document that the Beinecke uses to introduce their papyri collection. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cb\u003eAnn Ellis Hanson\u003c\/b\u003e is Professor Emerita of Classics at Yale University, and is a past winner of a MacArthur Fellowship.
