Kitty longs for the sea. Born aboard the motorsailer Betty, he is a sailor at heart-just like Momma Sara, Captain, and Rod. But before their next adventure begins, the family must stop in Yorktown for a few days. Kitty is excited, but Sara is not. Yorktown means Riley will be there. the huge orange tabby gets sick in cars, in the air, and even on boats. Sara sees no reason for him to be part of her life-yet Riley is Kitty's father, a truth Kitty doesn't know; he has heard the name.
Once in Yorktown, Kitty's curiosity leads him into unexpected trouble. A nighttime encounter with a great horned owl sends him close to harm. There he meets Sis Owl and a mysterious orange tabby. But the fog holds even deeper secrets. Kitty soon crosses paths with the real James Armistead and Alexander Milliner Maloney-historical figures who have been wandering the streets of Yorktown for a very long time. They need help finding missing papers that must reach Lafayette and General Washington before history unravels.
With courage and heart, Kitty steps into the past to set things right. When the fog finally lifts, the pieces of history fall back into place... and Riley makes a decision that changes everything. He isn't leaving Sara or Kitty-no matter what.
The story closes aboard Betty, where Riley, and Kitty curl together under the saloon table as the motorsailer heads back to sea-finally a family, finally home. Sara is nearby, watching.
A blend of coastal adventure, gentle mystery, and living history, Yorktown Secrets continues the heartwarming journey of A Kitty Adventure series.
